which liberally dot and criss-cross the province.

To
quantify the awesome potential for canoeing and kayaking
on Vancouver Island alone, we have approximately 3,500
kilometres of coastline, 700 lakes, 160 rivers and 890
streams!
These incredible natural resources are located amongst
wonderful natural scenery which greatly enhances the
outdoor experience.
British
Columbia is a paddler's paradise. We are blessed with
some of the finest canoeing and kayaking waters on mother
earth, just waiting for adventurers to discover and
explore. The incredible selection of lakes, rivers and
protected ocean water provides a great diversity of
canoeing and kayak touring opportunities.
Paddlers are seldom far from a day's outing on the water,
river trips vary from peaceful multi-day trips to challenging
river runs, and wilderness canoe camping and circuit
trips are plentiful and guaranteed to remain lifelong
memorable experiences.
On
Vancouver Island, the Nitinat Triangle and the Sayward
Forest Canoe routes provide 4 to 5 day canoe camping
trips. The Sunshine Coast has the Powell Forest Canoe
Route, east of Quesnel is the Bowron Lake Circuit, to
mention only a few of the known canoe routes.
